Wrecking Ball Maternity Costume

This is definitely one of our favorites. It’s super easy to make and most likely you’ll have all the supplies you’ll need at home already. And as an added bonus you get to sing “Wrecking Ball” all night long! Need a costume for your partner? Have them dress up as a construction worker and now you’ve got the perfect pregnant Halloween couple costume.

Supplies:

  • Scissors
  • Paper Plate
  • White Duct tape
  • Large Link Chain Necklace (long enough to rest at the top of your bump)
  • Barbie Doll
  • Black T-shirt
  • Grey Tanktop
  • Pencil or pen

Instructions:

  1. Use a pencil to trace an outline of the paper plate on your black T-shirt.
  2. Cut out the circular outline so your grey t-shirt will be visible through the cut-out. If your t-shirt is not very stretchy, you may need to cut a larger circle.
  3. Put on your grey tank top then your black t-shirt on over. Next, put your chain on.
  4. Slide the Barbie’s leg through the bottom center link of the chain and bend the doll’s leg to secure. Next, slide the doll’s arm through a link so it will be positioned above her head. Bend the arm so it stays in place.
  5. That’s it! Now you’re ready to hit Halloween Town!

Pregnant Pumpkin Belly

Nothing says Halloween quite like a pumpkin. Use your bump to your advantage and try a pregnant pumpkin belly. This is such a fun and creative DIY costume to do with your partner, your bestie, or even your kiddo. And when we say this is the EASIEST out of all the costumes we’ve listed, we mean it. You literally just sit or lay down while your “artist” paints your pumpkin on for you. So take a load off, Mama. You’ll be trick or treating in no time!

Supplies:

  • Non-toxic Orange Face Paint
  • Non- Toxic Brown Face Paint
  • Non-toxic Black Face Paint
  • 1 Medium Size Paint Brush
  • 1 Small Paint Brush
  • Cup of water (to rinse your brushes)
  • Towel (to dry brushes off between use)
  • 3 Paper Plates
  • Artistic Assistant (or anyone that can use a paintbrush)

Instructions:

  1. Place each color of paint onto separate paper plates (so they don’t mix together)
  2. Using the medium-sized paintbrush and orange paint, paint a large circle around your belly. Once you are satisfied with the shape, fill the rest in with orange paint.
  3. While the orange paint dries, begin painting the stem of your pumpkin with brown paint and the small paintbrush. We suggest painting a vertical rectangle to make it easy. For our more artistic readers go ahead and free-hand it!
  4. Now that your orange paint has dried a bit, add the grooves of your pumpkin. Using the same paintbrush and brown paint, add curved slightly wavy lines down your belly.
  5. Rinse off and towel dry the paintbrush.
  6. Next, you will paint the face of your pregnant pumpkin belly. Using the small paintbrush and black paint, make two triangles for the eyes at the top of your pumpkin. In the center of your bump paint another triangle to create a nose.
  7. Next, you will create the mouth. This part is completely up to you and your partner. You can make it as ghoulish or cheerful as you want. Just have fun with it!
  8. After your masterpiece is finished throw on a cropped black tank top or t-shirt and pair with a comfy pair of leggings and you’re good to go, Mama!

These are just a few of our favorite maternity Halloween costumes. Whether you wanna let your artistic side shine with a painted pregnant belly for Halloween or you opt for a DIY pregnant pregnant pumpkin belly, just have fun with it, Mama! Halloween is a great time to show off your bump in a way you never have before.
